Kim Eui-sung on 'Taxi Driver 3' Villain Theories: 'I'm Laughed and Saddened After 5 Years'
Actor Kim Eui-sung shared his thoughts on the persistent 'villain theory' surrounding his character in 'Taxi Driver 3', a rumor that has followed him for five years.
The press conference for the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3' was held on the afternoon of the 18th at the SBS building, with director Kang Bo-seung, and actors Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Bae Yoo-ram in attendance.
'Taxi Driver 3' is a vigilante action drama where a taxi company, Rainbow Transport, and its driver Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon) exact revenge on behalf of victims who have suffered injustice. Kim Eui-sung plays Jang Seong-cheol, the CEO of Rainbow Transport, who has been portrayed as a righteous character aiding victims since Season 1.
However, due to Kim's past acclaimed performances in villainous roles, some viewers continue to suspect Jang Seong-cheol's true intentions, fueling the 'villain theory'.
Kim Eui-sung humorously remarked, "It makes me reflect on my own life choices." He added, "It's been nearly five years since Season 1, and many are still suspicious. When some stills for Season 3 were released, people claimed I was 'shooting a gun with a smile' while spraying water with a hose. How can I show you my inner thoughts like turning a sock inside out?"
He concluded by urging viewers, "Please keep watching. If you continue to watch with suspicion, something will surely happen. Please watch and see," raising anticipation for the new season.
Netizens reacted humorously, with comments like "I trust Actor Kim Eui-sung! Looking forward to this season too," and "The villain theory is hilarious lol I'm excited for the chemistry with Actor Lee Je-hoon." Many expressed anticipation for the drama, acknowledging the actor's enduring impact.
