MBC's upcoming special documentary, 'Bae Cam in Lollapalooza,' is set to explore the world-renowned music festival, Lollapalooza, and its role in elevating K-pop's global standing.
Slated for broadcast on the 20th as part of MBC's 64th-anniversary celebration, the documentary commemorates the 35th anniversary of MBC Radio FM4U's 'Bae Cheol Soo's Music Camp' (abbreviated as 'Bae Cam'). The program ventures to the iconic American festival, Lollapalooza, capturing the vibrant atmosphere and featuring interviews with participating artists and festival organizers.
The 2025 Lollapalooza festival, held in Chicago's Grant Park from late July to early August, featured top-tier pop artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo, alongside prominent K-pop acts such as BOYNEXTDOOR and Xdinary Heroes. Notably, TWICE made history as the first K-pop girl group to headline the festival, delivering a spectacular closing performance.
'Bae Cam in Lollapalooza' promises to deliver the excitement and emotion of the festival, complemented by interviews with global artist Alex Warren, who recently hit number one on the Billboard charts with his single 'Ordinary,' as well as K-pop artists including BOYNEXTDOOR, Xdinary Heroes, and Wave to Earth. Meanwhile, 'Bae Cheol Soo's Music Camp,' celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, has established itself as Korea's premier music program since its inception in March 1990, consistently introducing a diverse range of domestic and international music and musicians.
