Actor Ma Dong-seok shared his feelings about designing the new tvN entertainment program, 'I Am a Boxer,' a large-scale blockbuster boxing survival show.
At the online press conference held on the 19th, Ma Dong-seok, who boasts 30 years of experience as a boxing gym owner, explained that he conceived the program with the hope of reviving K-boxing. He expressed his deep emotion, stating, "Many people helped, but this is a stage I've always dreamed of. I wanted to create a stage for boxers and fans to engage in fair competition, and seeing it realized is truly overwhelming. I am grateful and happy."
'I Am a Boxer' boasts an impressive scale, featuring collaborations with art director Lee Young-joo, known for 'Physical: 100,' and top domestic boxing ring experts. The show utilizes a 1000-pyeong main match arena and a 500-pyeong boxing gym set, amplifying the viewing pleasure.
The star-studded lineup includes former Oriental Champion Kim Min-wook, national athlete Kim Dong-hoe with 14 consecutive national victories, gold medalist Guk Seung-jun, Army Sports Unit's Lee Chae-hyun, action actor Jang Hyuk, UFC fighter Jung Da-un, and former UDT member Yuk Jun-seo.
Ma Dong-seok, who began boxing in middle school, is not only a coach to fellow actors and athletes but also an honorary vice president of the Korea Boxing Association and a boxing promoter, demonstrating his profound dedication to the sport. 'I Am a Boxer' is set to premiere on the 21st at 11 PM.
