Actress Yeom Seung-yi is set to make her feature film debut in 'Underground Idol,' directed by Lee Soo-sung, which is scheduled for release on the 20th.

Set in an era where K-POP dominates the global scene, 'Underground Idol' humorously portrays the desperate struggles for survival of idols from the underground world, rather than the top stars. Yeom Seung-yi will take on the role of 'Seung-hyun,' an idol who disguises herself as a boy.

Seung-hyun is typically gentle and timid in her daily life but transforms into a tough and intense performer when cross-dressing on stage. Yeom Seung-yi will collaborate with BZ – BOYS members Choi Won-ho, Lee Ha-min, Jung Dong-hwan, and Jung Seung-hyun, skillfully navigating the character's dual charms to bring vitality to the film.

The character dreams of debuting as a girl group idol but faces repeated rejections in auditions. Determined not to give up, she takes a drastic step by cross-dressing to seize a final opportunity, successfully joining a boy group. Having built a solid acting foundation through theater and web dramas, Yeom Seung-yi is expected to showcase a unique presence in this new role.

Yeom Seung-yi has consistently expanded her filmography across various genres, including the play 'Sheer Madness,' web drama 'Gadoori Restaurant,' drama 'Please Let Me Drink,' 'Queenmaker,' and the film 'Seoul Ghost Stories.'

Korean netizens are showing enthusiastic support, commenting, "Cheering for Actress Yeom Seung-yi's screen debut!", "A cross-dressing idol sounds so intriguing!", and "Looking forward to the chemistry with the BZ – BOYS members!"
