KATSEYE Shatters Own Records on Billboard Charts, 'Gabriela' Climbs Hot 100 and Pop Airplay
Global girl group KATSEYE, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, has once again set new personal bests on major Billboard charts.
According to the latest charts released by Billboard on November 19th (KST) for the November 22nd tracking week, KATSEYE's second EP ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS’ and its track ‘Gabriela’ landed at number 31 on the main song chart, the Hot 100. This marks a two-spot climb from the previous week and extends their charting run to 17 consecutive weeks.
KATSEYE's upward momentum is particularly notable on the Pop Airplay chart, which is based on radio airplay data. ‘Gabriela’ surged to number 13 this week, setting another all-time high for the group. This strong performance on a key indicator of popularity and mainstream appeal demonstrates KATSEYE's widespread acceptance in the U.S. market.
The group's album continues to resonate with audiences. The EP ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS’ climbed 8 spots from the previous week to number 35 on the Billboard 200, extending its streak to 20 consecutive weeks on the chart. Furthermore, the album achieved another milestone by re-entering the Top Album Sales chart at number 11 and Top Current Album Sales at number 10, both for their 20th consecutive week.
Notably, their debut EP ‘SIS (Soft Is Strong)’, released in September, has also re-entered the sales charts. ‘SIS’ secured the 38th position on Top Album Sales and the 31st on Top Current Album Sales, marking their 13th and 18th weeks on the charts, respectively, proving its enduring appeal.
KATSEYE's popularity is even more robust on the global charts, which aggregate data from over 200 territories. ‘Gabriela’ sits at number 22 on the Global 200 and number 18 on the Global Excl. U.S. charts, continuing its 21-week charting run. Even the pre-release single ‘Gnarly’, over six months since its release, remains a fixture on the charts at number 147 on the Global 200 and number 152 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart for a remarkable 28 consecutive weeks.
Born from Chairman Bang Si-hyuk's 'K-pop methodology' and honed through HYBE America's systematic T&D (Training & Development) system, KATSEYE debuted in the U.S. in June of last year. They recently achieved a significant milestone by securing nominations in two categories at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, held on February 1st: Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Fans are buzzing with excitement, commenting things like, "KATSEYE is absolutely killing it on the Billboard charts! So proud!", "They're breaking their own records left and right, it's insane!", and "Can't wait to see what they do next, they're truly global stars!"
