Ahn Bo-hyun Clinches First Blue Dragon Award for Best New Actor on Father's Birthday

Actor Ahn Bo-hyun has achieved a career milestone, winning his first-ever Blue Dragon Film Award for Best New Actor on his father's birthday.

The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony, co-hosted by Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon, took place on the 19th at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul.

Ahn Bo-hyun received the award for his powerful performance in the film ‘Hard Hit’. Overwhelmed, he expressed, "I truly didn't expect this. Just attending felt significant, and I am so grateful once again," sharing his joy with a bright smile. His sincere emotion drew laughter and applause from the veteran actors in the audience.

He continued his acceptance speech by thanking his co-stars and crew. "I was so happy to be able to portray Gil-gu in ‘Hard Hit’. I'm truly thankful to Lim Yoon-a, who shone alongside me, as well as senior actor Sung Dong-il, Hyun-young, Hyun-soo, Geon-han, and all the staff and fellow actors. I'm also very grateful to Director Lee Sang-geun for letting me meet Gil-gu."

Ahn Bo-hyun also shared his inspiration for pursuing acting. "I lived as a professional boxer for a very long time and spent my school days doing that. The movie ‘The Warrior’s Way’ that I saw then was the catalyst that made me want to become an actor. I'm also thankful to Director Ryoo Seung-wan," he stated. He also extended his gratitude to his new agency, AM Entertainment.

"There are so many people I'm thankful for. I will contact them directly. Thank you to everyone at AM Entertainment, my new family," he said. Highlighting the special occasion, he added, "It's my father's birthday today, and this feels like a precious gift. I haven't been in touch for a while, but I'll definitely call him. To my grandmother, who isn't feeling well, 'Grandma, I won the award!' I'll be sure to tell you when I go to Busan." He concluded with a vow, "I'll take this as a sign to never lose my initial resolve and to work hard, becoming an actor like Ahn Bo-hyun. Thank you," his voice thick with emotion.
