YouTuber Tzuyang Addresses False Rumors, Including 'Chinese Backing' Claims
Popular YouTuber Tzuyang has broken her silence on the various false information and rumors surrounding her.
Appearing as a guest on Comedian Park Na-rae's YouTube channel 'Narae Sig' on the 19th, Tzuyang identified the rumor that she received support from 'Chinese forces' to reach 12 million subscribers as one of the most bewildering.
"There were stories about some Chinese forces supporting me, but the source was unclear, and my name, Tzuyang, led to misunderstandings that I am Chinese," she explained. She added, "I was surprised to see completely false stories spreading as if they were true."
Tzuyang also revealed that many rumors were too explicit to be discussed on broadcast, stating, "There were many rumors with a level of explicitness that makes them difficult to talk about on air."
She also corrected misinformation regarding her personal life, noting, "Incorrect educational background and Chinese characters for my name were listed on Namu Wiki, to the point where my parents had to call and verify."
"It was very difficult at first, but eventually, I learned to ignore it," she shared calmly. "I try to think of this as a form of attention. After all, it means they know a lot about me, doesn't it?"
Netizens commented, "Cheer up, Tzuyang! Don't mind the malicious commenters," "The truth always comes out. We support you!" and "Sometimes the YouTube community and Namu Wiki information goes too far."
