Actor Lee Jang-woo Recounts 'Customs Bomb' After Luxury Bag Purchase in Paris

Actor Lee Jang-woo has shared a humorous anecdote about being hit with an unexpected customs tax bomb after purchasing a luxury handbag in Paris.

On the 18th, former T-ara member Ham Eun-jung uploaded a short video on her YouTube channel titled 'The Mistake I Made Because I Wasn't Used to Luxury Bags…'. The video featured a conversation between Ham Eun-jung and Lee Jang-woo.

Lee Jang-woo revealed, "I bought a bag when I went to Paris to buy one for my mother. I bought a Chanel bag," initially surprising viewers. He then continued, "It was the first time I had ever bought luxury goods, so I brought it back in its shopping bag, packed directly into my suitcase. Upon arrival at Incheon Airport, the bag had a yellow lock on it," he explained, eliciting laughter.

He elaborated, "I don't know much about the law, but they gave it to me in a shopping bag, and it came with a lock. So I thought, 'Oh, when you buy a luxury bag, it comes with a lock?' Every time I shook it, it made a squeaking noise, and I did it in front of everyone," he described.

Lee Jang-woo expressed his dismay, saying, "They told me I had to pay more taxes. I didn't know about voluntary declaration or anything, I just brought it as it was. In the end, I bought it for more than it would have cost in Korea. I only realized that later." He added with a laugh that he had a similar experience a couple more times.

Meanwhile, Lee Jang-woo is set to marry actress Jo Hye-won on the 23rd. Ham Eun-jung is also preparing for her wedding with film director Kim Byung-woo on the 30th.
