Park Joon-hyung & Jang Hyuk Tackle Diverse 'Calls' with Kim Jong-min, Proving Their Versatility
The dynamic duo Park Joon-hyung and Jang Hyuk, affectionately known as ‘Park Jang Bro,’ received viewers’ cheers as they tackled various ‘calls’ (requests) alongside their first celebrity client, Kim Jong-min of Koyote.
In the fourth episode of Channel S’s ‘Park Jang Dae So,’ aired on the 19th, the ‘30-year best friends’ Park Joon-hyung and Jang Hyuk were seen navigating the city to resolve a multitude of ‘calls.’ Notably, newlywed Kim Jong-min joined the ‘Park Jang Bro’ duo, adding to the rich entertainment with his signature friendliness and witty banter, even when handling awkward requests.
The ‘Park Jang Bro’ duo received a ‘call’ asking for help with a badminton club entrance test. Upon arriving at a park, the client requested, “I haven’t been in Seoul long and don’t have friends. Can you rally with me?” Hearing the specific conditions, Jang Hyuk humorously pointed out Park Joon-hyung’s eyesight issues, joking, “Our Jjuni hyung can’t see the ball well.” They then started with warm-up exercises, emphasizing, “Stretching is essential for all sports!”
Park Joon-hyung reminisced, “You and Danny Ahn were really good at pull-ups back then,” to which Jang Hyuk corrected, “I was a gymnast in high school. Danny was below me~,” eliciting laughter. As the rally began with the client’s serve, Park Joon-hyung adopted a ‘referee mode,’ remarking, “You’re doing pretty badly.” Jang Hyuk playfully added, “Do you really need to join the club?” Despite the teasing, the client gained confidence from their active coaching and successfully completed 10 rallies, taking a step closer to their joining dream. Jang Hyuk encouraged, “You can gradually improve starting like this,” successfully completing their first ‘call.’
Next, the two received a ‘call’ to join someone for noodles, leading them to a Michelin-starred restaurant. To their surprise, the second client was Koyote’s Kim Jong-min. Bursting into laughter, Park Joon-hyung asked, “It’s the first time I’m seeing you since you got married. How’s married life?” Kim Jong-min, who recently married a woman 11 years his junior, replied, “It’s great. It’s happiness to have someone greet you when you get home.”
Shortly after, owner-chef Kim Do-yoon appeared and made an ‘impromptu call,’ saying, “If you enjoy our food today, please do me a favor.” The three agreed, enthusiastically eating dishes like five-color vegetable noodles, Pyeongyang naengmyeon, and seolleongtang. Chef Kim Do-yoon then revealed his favor: washing the dishes. Jang Hyuk entered the kitchen, showing his ‘dishwashing fairy’ side by stating, “This much dishwashing is basic. I always do it at home~”
After completing the fun ‘call,’ the trio headed to a dental clinic to meet a client developing toothpaste, who requested their help with an evaluation. Upon seeing them, the client immediately asked, “Can I check if you brushed your teeth properly?” and promptly placed a mouth gag on Kim Jong-min, who let out groans. Amidst the chaos, the three tested five types of toothpaste developed by the client. Kim Jong-min, showing his pride in oral hygiene, declared, “Since I’m newly married, I brush my teeth right after waking up.” Park Joon-hyung humorously added, “Have you guys passed the gas stage yet? If not, you’re not human~,” showcasing their chaotic chemistry.
The client expressed gratitude and offered a reward after all tests were completed.
Back in the ‘Park Jang Car,’ the three undertook an ‘impromptu call’ mission by the Han River. Spotting an MZ group gathered on the lawn, they initiated a conversation. The aspiring actors revealed they met at acting academy and bombarded Jang Hyuk, a 27-year veteran actor, with questions. To the question about parental opposition, Jang Hyuk laughingly recalled, “Actually, I wasn’t good at studying, so when I told my parents I wanted to act, they said, ‘Just do that then,’ and agreed.”
Park Joon-hyung chimed in, “Before becoming part of god, I debuted as an actor. I appeared in a whopping 66 episodes of the sitcom ‘Soonpoong Clinic’!” Inspired, the MZ clients pleaded, “Please help us debut.” Park Joon-hyung encouraged them, “From now, look at the camera and introduce yourselves. It’s a chance to be on TV!” Jang Hyuk also advised, “Don’t give up, and gradually build your own unique color,” receiving warm applause.
In a heartwarming turn, they met a couple contemplating cohabitation before marriage, who sought advice on finding a house. Regarding the boyfriend’s request for a room with a balcony, Park Joon-hyung shared a relatable anecdote from a married man’s perspective: “Do you need a space just for men? My bathroom is like that for me. I lose track of time listening to music and relaxing there, and then 30 minutes pass, and then I get hemorrhoids…” eliciting both laughter and empathy.
Finally, they received a ‘call’ from a woman seeking a new name as her life wasn’t going well. This aspiring essayist requested a name fitting for a ‘writer.’ After a moment’s thought, Jang Hyuk suggested, “Pure Korean words are good. Like writer Hangang!” Kim Jong-min playfully offered, “How about Dumangang?” Park Joon-hyung recommended, “Short but impactful ‘Jeong’ would be good. It has a meaning unique to Korea~.” The client, surprisingly satisfied, chose ‘Jeong’ as her pen name. Park Joon-hyung concluded, “All three of us have famous celebrity names, so I hope you soar with the stage name we recommended,” wrapping up the day’s ‘calls’ on a warm note.
The show airs every Wednesday at 8:50 PM KST.
