Solo artist Kyubinn is set to embark on her official Japanese music career after signing a joint production and management contract with SML (Sony Music Labels), a subsidiary of Japan's largest music conglomerate, Sony Music Group, and management firm Cube.

Kyubinn first appeared on the music scene in January 2024 with her debut track ‘Really Like You,’ which garnered explosive reactions across Asia, including Japan, immediately upon its release. The song topped the Spotify Viral Charts in seven Asian countries and the Billboard Japan Heatseekers Songs chart, while also achieving high rankings on major Japanese platforms like Apple Music and LINE Music. This marks an exceptional global achievement for a rookie female solo artist, not affiliated with a group.

SML (Sony Music Labels) recognized Kyubinn's stable live performances, her capabilities as a singer-songwriter, her sophisticated visuals, and her natural fluency in English and Japanese. They identified her as a rare talent in the Japanese market, the world's second-largest music market, which hosts a diverse range of artists, possessing strong vocals, performance skills, linguistic abilities, and visual appeal. Consequently, they decided to sign her through Epic Records, a top-tier label under SML.

Kyubinn is currently actively promoting her third Korean single, ‘CAPPUCCINO,’ released on October 28th. Ahead of her official Japanese debut, she will release the Japanese version of her debut song ‘Really Like You’ as a pre-debut single on November 28th, her birthday. Her official Japanese debut is slated for the first half of 2026. SML and Cube plan to strongly support Kyubinn's entry into the Japanese market through various online and offline promotions starting from the pre-debut phase.

Kyubinn shared her excitement: “I’m already thrilled and happy to start activities in a new environment. I sincerely thank the Japanese fans who have been waiting for my music, and everyone who is joining me on this journey. Receiving such great trust and opportunity has also increased my sense of responsibility, and I will repay you with more advanced music and performances as I grow further, sharing my music more broadly and deeply in Japan!”

Her agency, Liveworks Company, stated, “Despite being a rookie in her second year since debut, Kyubinn is rapidly expanding her fanbase in regions such as Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.” They added, “Starting with this Japanese pre-debut, we will accelerate her activities throughout Asia, focusing on Korea and Japan.”

Kyubinn's pre-debut single 'Really Like You' (Japanese version) is scheduled to be released at midnight on the 28th across various online music streaming platforms.

Fans are expressing excitement over Kyubinn's Japanese venture, with comments like 'Finally, she's making a proper debut in Japan!', 'I'm excited to see Kyubinn's charm captivate the Japanese audience too,' and 'So proud! She's definitely a future global queen!'
