Kevin Spacey Admits to Being 'Literally Homeless' Amidst Financial Woes Post-Allegations
Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey has revealed that he is currently facing significant financial difficulties and is "literally homeless" following the numerous sexual misconduct allegations against him.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Spacey stated, "I'm currently living in hotels and Airbnbs. I move around for work." He admitted, "I don't have a home right now." While acknowledging his financial situation is "not great," he clarified, "I'm not in bankruptcy."
Spacey lamented, "I've had far more go out than come in over the last seven years. The costs have been astronomical."
Since 2017, over 30 men, including actor Anthony Rapp, have accused Spacey of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. These allegations led to his effective removal from the Netflix hit series 'House of Cards,' which concluded in 2018 with Robin Wright taking over the lead role.
Although Spacey was acquitted of sexual assault charges in the UK and found not liable in a civil lawsuit in New York, he stressed, "The costs and the fallout from the last seven years have been enormous."
He described his current situation as feeling "back to square one," adding, "I go wherever the work is. All my stuff is in storage. I want to figure out where I'm going to settle down, and that will happen when it happens."
Regarding further accusations made in the documentary 'Spacey Unmasked,' released this year, he vowed, "I'm not going to be silent about the stories that are being told about me that are false or exaggerated."
Spacey asserted, "I will take responsibility for my actions that I did, but I'm not going to pay for things that I didn't do." He strongly denied ever offering career advancement in exchange for sexual favors.
Recently, Spacey has begun to slowly resume his career, seeking a comeback after receiving a career achievement award at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival in France and performing at a resort in Limassol, Cyprus.
Netizens are divided, with some commenting, "His acting skills are still undeniable, and his current situation is regrettable," while others believe, "He needs more time for self-reflection before making a comeback."
