Park Si-hoo's Agency Vows Strong Legal Action Against Defamer Spreading Adultery Rumors
Park Si-hoo's agency has revealed the progress of their legal proceedings against individuals accused of spreading malicious rumors, including allegations of arranging extramarital affairs.
The law firm Hyemyung, representing actor Park Si-hoo, announced on the 21st that they filed a lawsuit in August against an individual accused of defamation and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act for maliciously creating and disseminating false posts on social media.
"The claims that 'Actor Park Si-hoo introduced women to married men and was involved in the breakdown of families' are clearly false and baseless," stated the agency.
The agency further explained that the case originated when the accused allegedly stole their ex-husband's phone, maliciously edited and distorted conversation logs and photo files, and posted them on social media. The ex-husband also filed a lawsuit against the accused, and the police recently acknowledged the charges of defamation and forwarded the case to the prosecution.
"The investigative authorities have confirmed that the accused's posts are false or distorted," the agency emphasized. "As the posts concerning the ex-husband and actor Park Si-hoo are based on the same context and evidence, it is evident that the charges in the case filed by actor Park Si-hoo will also be recognized."
Park Si-hoo's side stated they will take a firm stance without any leniency or settlement against baseless rumors and malicious slander that severely damage his reputation. They reiterated their commitment to relentlessly pursue and hold accountable those who irresponsibly create and spread fake news online.
The adultery referral allegations first surfaced in August when an influencer, identified as Ms. A, posted on her social media account, claiming Park Si-hoo introduced women to her then-husband starting in 2020. At the time, Park Si-hoo's agency had already announced their intention for strong legal action, asserting the claims were false.
Meanwhile, Park Si-hoo is set to make his screen comeback after approximately 10 years with the new film 'The Orchestra of God,' scheduled for release on December 31st.
Netizens have shown support for Park Si-hoo's legal stance, commenting, "People who make baseless accusations should be punished," and "It's a relief to hear it's not true. I'll definitely watch the movie," and "The actor must have suffered a lot because of these malicious comments."
