South Korean sibling duo AKMU (Akdong Musician) is set to leave YG Entertainment after a decade-long journey with the label.

In an official statement released on the 21st, YG Entertainment announced, "After careful consideration, AKMU has decided to pursue their musical activities in a new environment." The agency added, "We sincerely support their future endeavors."

Reports suggest the decision was made after extensive discussions between YG's founder Yang Hyun-suk and the duo members Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun. YG expressed their gratitude, stating, "It has been a great joy for the company to witness AKMU's growth by their side. We are deeply thankful to AKMU for gifting us with their incredible music and emotions over the years."

AKMU first garnered attention after winning the second season of SBS's audition program 'K-Pop Star' in 2013. They signed with YG Entertainment in 2014 and debuted, subsequently releasing hit songs such as '200%', 'How can I love the heartbreak, you're the one I love', 'NAKKA', and 'DINOSAUR'.

With their departure from YG, AKMU is poised for a new chapter, sparking anticipation for the musical directions they will explore next.

Fans have reacted with a mix of nostalgia and excitement, commenting, "Wow, 10 years with YG, time flies!" and "Wherever they go, I'll always support AKMU's music!" Many are looking forward to seeing what this new beginning holds for the talented duo.
