TWICE Unit MISAMO to Release First Japanese Full Album 'PLAY' in February 2026
TWICE's Japanese unit, MISAMO, comprising members Momo, Sana, and Mina, has announced the release of their first full-length Japanese album, titled 'PLAY'. The album is slated for release on February 4, 2026.
JYP Entertainment unveiled a captivating trailer video and images on November 21st via TWICE's official Japanese social media channels, inviting fans into a special theatrical experience. The trailer begins with Mina's narration, "Welcome to the stage," transitioning through posters of their previous releases, 'Masterpiece' and 'HAUTE COUTURE', before opening doors to a grand theater.
The visual depicts Mina, Sana, and Momo in elegant dresses, seated in the audience, observing themselves confidently taking the stage in sharp suits. This striking contrast is enhanced by the message, "Perhaps your seat is not in the audience after all. Reality ends here, and it's time to take the stage," artfully blurring the lines between reality and performance.
The accompanying images further build anticipation, resembling a theater cast announcement, hinting at the creation of a masterpiece by MISAMO. Since their debut with 'Masterpiece' in July 2023 and their second EP 'HAUTE COUTURE' in November 2024, MISAMO has captivated global fans with their classic and sophisticated style. This upcoming full-length album, approximately two years and seven months after their local debut, is set to further solidify their presence.
MISAMO has maintained consistent activity since their Japanese debut in 2023. Earlier this year, they successfully concluded their first dome tour, 'MISAMO JAPAN DOME TOUR 2024 "HAUTE COUTURE"', attracting a total of 250,000 attendees, including a sold-out show at the Tokyo Dome, reaffirming their popularity. Following their career highs as members of the 'global top girl group' TWICE and their successful unit activities, MISAMO is poised to kick off 2026 with a spectacular musical offering.
Fans are buzzing with excitement following the announcement, with comments like "Finally, a full album! So excited!" and "Can't wait to see the new concept!" flooding social media. Many express their eagerness to experience MISAMO's new music and performances.
