Sung Si-kyung in Tears While Listening to Kyuhyun's New Album, Hints at Manager's Embezzlement Shock
Singer Sung Si-kyung was visibly moved to tears while listening to a track from labelmate Kyuhyun's latest album.
The emotional moment appears to be a release of pent-up feelings, stemming from the severe psychological shock Sung experienced recently after a massive embezzlement scandal involving his former manager of over a decade.
On the 21st, Kyuhyun released a video on his YouTube channel, 'KYUHYUN', titled 'Listening Party with Sung Si-kyung'. During the listening session of Kyuhyun's new album, 'The Classic', Sung became speechless during the third track, 'Goodbye, My Friend'.
After exclaiming, "It's so good," he removed his glasses and wiped his eyes. As the next song, 'Living in Memories', played, he let out a deep sigh and remained silent for a while.
Finishing the song review, Sung Si-kyung confessed, "Sorry. I guess I was a bit upset. The song was just so good." He added, "This is an era where ballads aren't mainstream, so I was grateful and moved that a junior artist I cherish is making music with such sincerity. That feeling... it must have overlapped with my own situation."
It was recently revealed that Sung Si-kyung suffered millions of dollars in damages from his former manager, whom he considered family. He had previously shared his distress in a written post, stating, "The past few months have been truly agonizing and difficult. I experienced a breach of trust from someone I believed in, cherished, and thought of as family."
Netizens expressed sympathy for Sung Si-kyung's emotional reaction. Comments included, "Poor Sung Si-kyung, how hard must it have been ㅠㅠ", "Hope Kyuhyun's song brings him some comfort", and "As expected, great music touches the heart."
