The untold story behind the selection of SEVENTEEN's 5th full album title track has been unveiled, capturing significant attention.

In the third episode of the Disney+ documentary series ‘SEVENTEEN: OUR CHAPTER’, released on the 21st, the group meticulously documented their deep contemplation and decision-making process surrounding their 5th full album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’ and its title track.

While initially leaning towards ‘HBD’ as the title track, the members found themselves contemplating a new direction when Woozi's song ‘THUNDER’ emerged as a strong contender. Woozi expressed confidence in ‘THUNDER’, describing it as "autobiographical, unembellished, and a story that SEVENTEEN can deliver with conviction." However, he emphasized the importance of synergy, stating, "The synergy with the music will be maximized if the members can passionately perform it," demonstrating his respect for the members' opinions.

Jun shared his surprise upon first hearing ‘THUNDER’, noting, "It was different from the songs Woozi had worked on before." He added, "After hearing how this song was produced, I became even more convinced," highlighting his strong belief in the track.

Seungkwan also expressed his affection for ‘THUNDER’, remarking, "I think it's a song that can show a cooler side of SEVENTEEN. It's truly a 'New Challenger'," showcasing his enthusiasm for the song.

Following its release, ‘THUNDER’ topped major music charts and secured eight trophies on music shows. The song's global appeal was also evident, charting on Billboard's 'Global 200' and 'Global (Excl. U.S.)', the UK Official Charts' 'Single Downloads' and 'Single Sales', and Billboard Japan's 'Hot 100', among other major international charts.

The creation of the album's other tracks was equally intense, with members contributing solo songs that reflected their personal reflections, concerns, and aspirations on the theme of 'a story about myself'. Woozi's statement, "I don't want to be left behind. I wanted to show that even after 10 years, the group is still anticipated for what's next. This is the starting point for moving towards a team that people will look forward to for our 20th anniversary," raised expectations for SEVENTEEN's new chapter.

The documentary concluded with the members sharing their heartfelt definitions of their fandom, CARAT. When asked about CARAT's meaning, they responded with profound sentiments: S.Coups called them "companions walking towards the same goal," Joshua described them as "best friends who have grown together," Seungkwan referred to them as "saviors," and Vernon stated they are "our everything," leaving a lasting emotional impact.

The final episode of ‘SEVENTEEN: OUR CHAPTER’ is set to be released on December 1st. SEVENTEEN is currently engaging with fans worldwide through their ongoing world tour, ‘SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN JAPAN’.

Korean netizens reacted positively to the documentary, commenting, "It's amazing that Woozi respected the members' opinions so much," "THUNDER is truly a masterpiece!", and "SEVENTEEN members are all so cool, I'll keep supporting you!" They praised the members' mature approach and musical talent.
