Get ready for an even more exciting and intense culinary battle! Netflix's hit variety show 'Final Table: The Hunger Games 2' is set to premiere on December 16th (Tuesday), bringing back the thrilling competition between ambitious 'black spoon' chefs aiming to overturn the hierarchy with their flavors and the top 'white spoon' chefs defending their status.

Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji, the PDs behind the show that made waves by topping Netflix's Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks, teased the biggest 'kick' for Season 2: "The appearance of contestants we never imagined."

"In Season 1, we had chefs who were beyond our wildest dreams participate. For Season 2, chefs who would have been considered 'white spoon' caliber in Season 1 will be appearing as 'black spoons'," they revealed, raising anticipation. The PDs added, "Chefs who don't necessarily need to compete decided to appear for the sake of junior chefs and the culinary industry. We're also delighted to discover hidden gems among the 'black spoon' applicants."

Confirmed participants already generating buzz include Lee Jun, a pioneer of Korean fine dining; Son Jong-won, who holds Michelin stars for both Korean and Western cuisine; Sun Jae-seung, Korea's first master of temple food; and Hou De-zhu, a Chinese cuisine master with 57 years of experience.

The show's signature elements, the 1:1 blind taste tests and the endless 'infinite cooking hell' from Season 1, will return. "Our principle was not to forget why we were loved," said PD Kim. "We aimed to retain the beloved aspects while improving on areas that felt lacking, striking a balance between novelty and fun."

PD Kim further explained, "Reflecting viewer feedback, we've reduced the team rounds from two to one and added more 1:1 missions. We've also implemented new rules to further amplify the intensity of the 'black and white' hierarchy war." They emphasized, "Our most important directive was 'no more elimination-style rules like before.' We've strived to create more engaging and suspenseful missions."

Notably, Season 2 will feature a 'flavor' showdown utilizing local specialties from across South Korea, adding another layer of appeal. "We wondered how we could positively impact Korea and its regions through the show's reach," said PD Kim. "We thought it would be great to introduce regional specialties to a global audience through 'Final Table'. We made efforts to ensure a balanced selection of excellent products from various regions."

'Final Table: The Hunger Games 2' will meet viewers worldwide on Netflix on December 16th (Tuesday) at 5 PM.

Netizens are buzzing with excitement, commenting things like, "Finally! I loved Season 1 so much," "This lineup is insane, I can't wait!" and "Regional ingredients? So exciting, I'm definitely tuning in!"
