Park Seo-joon Comforts Sung Si-kyung Amidst Manager Betrayal Scandal
Actor Park Seo-joon offered words of comfort to singer Sung Si-kyung, who recently suffered financial losses due to a manager's betrayal.
A video titled ‘Sung Si-kyung’s Meok-ul-Tense (with. Park Seo-joon)’ was uploaded on Sung Si-kyung's YouTube channel 'Sung Si-kyung SUNG SI KYUNG' on the 2nd.
During the video, Sung Si-kyung expressed admiration for Park Seo-joon, saying, “You are truly righteous,” as Park Seo-joon took a detour to cross the crosswalk.
It was previously announced that Sung Si-kyung would participate in the OST for JTBC's new drama 'Waiting for the Road' starring Park Seo-joon.
When Park Seo-joon brought up the OST, Sung Si-kyung shared his initial thoughts: “I thought it wasn't about writing a hit song, but about becoming the male lead's emotions, where even reciting the lines without melody would convey the feeling. Rather than a fantastic melody, I believed the emotion was what mattered.” He then added, “Because I loved the drama so much, I wished I had written a better song.”
Park Seo-joon recalled, “On our set, we played the version you later recorded and sent us. It was played frequently during important scenes and blended in very well, which was great.”
Sung Si-kyung indirectly referenced the recent manager fraud incident, stating, “I tend to like and trust people easily. It's partly because of our profession, but I’ve become more cautious due to various events.” He continued, expressing his admiration for Park Seo-joon, “Watching this drama, I realized. I really like you. Even though we haven't known each other for too long, I can see you are a very good and excellent actor.”
He further expressed his gratitude, saying, “It was the first time an actor directly asked me to participate in an OST. A male actor asking me to do the main theme song was a first. It felt like winning a good lottery, especially during a difficult time.”
Park Seo-joon then shared his belief, “One of the sayings I believe in is, ‘Before something great happens, something very difficult occurs.’ I believe in that.” He added, “That’s why I thought it was right not to contact you when the news broke, and conversely, I knew I wouldn't like it if it were me, so I didn't reach out. But meeting like this today, I really wanted to say this. Something great is definitely going to happen in the future, so consider this as a filtering process.”
Sung Si-kyung responded, “Can I keep this internal closeness?” and stated, “I consider you a good connection, Seo-joon.”
