Cha Tae-hyun Moved to Tears by Lee Ye-ji's Performance on 'Our Ballad'
Actor Cha Tae-hyun couldn't hold back his tears while watching contestant Lee Ye-ji's performance during the final live broadcast of SBS's variety show, 'Our Ballad'.
The show aired its grand finale on the 2nd, featuring Lee Ye-ji, known as the 'Jeju Girl', singing a rendition of Yoon Jong-shin's 'Uphill Road'.
As the performance concluded, Cha Tae-hyun was visibly emotional. Co-host Jun Hyun-moo playfully remarked, "He cries every time Ye-ji appears." Cha Tae-hyun responded, "Now I cry because of dads," referring to Lee Ye-ji's father.
He further explained, "The song itself has a powerful resonance. But in the middle, her father appeared on screen, and he wasn't crying. I thought it would be strange if I cried when he wasn't, but I was overwhelmed."
Cha Tae-hyun added, "Putting that aside, the performance was truly excellent. I always cheer for Ye-ji and her father. Thank you for raising Ye-ji so well," he conveyed his sincere support.
Netizens watching the broadcast commented, 'Lee Ye-ji's song is really good,' 'Watching Cha Tae-hyun tear up made me emotional too,' and 'The warm father-daughter relationship is heartwarming.'
