BABYMONSTER Stuns Global Audience with 'Golden' Live Performance at '2025 MAMA AWARDS'
BABYMONSTER members Parita, Ahyeon, and Rora have sent shockwaves across the globe with their breathtaking performance at the '2025 MAMA AWARDS'.
Despite debuting only a year and a half ago, the group flawlessly tackled an extremely challenging song, one that even the original creators admitted would be difficult to find singers capable of performing live.
On November 28th and 29th, at the Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium, BABYMONSTER transformed into Huntress, the protagonists of the Netflix animated film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’.
Choosing a top-tier difficulty song for their first major global stage was already a point of discussion, but the actual performance left an impact far beyond expectations.
Without elaborate choreography or stage effects, the members delivered an overwhelming live performance. The stage, kicked off with ‘What It Sounds Like’, sent shivers through the audience from the start. They then reached their peak with ‘Golden’, the representative hit song of Huntress.
'Golden' is considered the most intricate song among the OSTs for ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’. The original music production team had previously stated, “It is difficult to find talent among adult male and female vocalists who can stably perform this song in its original key.”
The song's demanding high notes, rapid tonal shifts, and extreme stamina requirements had previously led to 'challenge videos' spreading online, with fans often struggling with the high-pitched parts, turning it into a meme.
However, BABYMONSTER members performed this notoriously difficult song live, in its original key, arrangement, and difficulty, causing a stir among the attendees. Their unwavering breath control during singing, precise split-second harmonies, and incredibly stable pitch – all while performing – solidified their reputation as 'monster rookies' once again.
The highlight that drew the loudest cheers was the section with alternating high notes in the latter half. The audience on-site, as well as the global fandom, exclaimed, “How is this a rookie’s first major stage live?”, “Are human vocal ranges really capable of this?”, “BaeMon saved ‘Golden’”.
Following the performance, live footage of ‘Golden’ spread rapidly across platforms like YouTube and TikTok, continuing its explosive viewership streak. International fans praised it as, “Even the original creators would be surprised,” and “The BaeMon version feels like the official live recording.”
In fact, BABYMONSTER's performance secured both the 1st and 2nd positions in overall views for the '2025 MAMA AWARDS'.
Recognized for their perfect skills in both vocals and performance, BABYMONSTER's 'Golden' live at the MAMA AWARDS has once again proven their potential and talent, further raising expectations for the sensational impact they will undoubtedly create in the global market.
Netizens raved, saying things like 'Their live skills are truly amazing,' 'Is this really a rookie group? The performance was unbelievable,' and 'I have even higher expectations for their future.'
