Galaxy Corporation CEO Choi Yong-ho Envisions AI Entertainment Future: 'Robot Idols to Emerge Within 5 Years'

Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, has unveiled a visionary outlook for the future of the AI entertainment technology (ent-tech) industry.

During an appearance on U.S. CNBC on the 1st, Choi expressed strong confidence in the continued growth of virtual entertainment consumption. He predicted that AI will significantly enhance the efficiency and reduce the costs of music video production.

Furthermore, Choi anticipates the arrival of 'robot idols' within the next five years, heralding an era where physical and virtual idols coexist in the entertainment landscape.

He cited the recent success of Netflix's 'K-pop Demon Hunters' as an example of the ongoing trend towards hybrid virtual entertainment experiences that blend offline and non-face-to-face interactions. Choi emphasized that we are entering a post-AI era where AI will replace a majority of entertainment content and create entirely new markets.

In line with this vision, Galaxy Corporation collaborated with Microsoft (MS) in April to release the music video 'Home Sweet Home,' powered by Azure OpenAI Sora. At the time, MS CEO Satya Nadella lauded the project as an innovative endeavor poised to transform the entertainment industry paradigm.

Choi Yong-ho also garnered attention for being the sole ent-tech CEO to meet with MS CEO Satya Nadella during his visit to Korea. He was also the youngest invitee to the APEC leaders' dinner, sharing the stage with global leaders. Recently, Galaxy Corporation, alongside its artist G-Dragon, made a significant contribution of 2 million Hong Kong dollars to aid victims of a fire incident in Hong Kong, demonstrating active participation in social contribution activities.
