Late Taiwanese actress Hsu Chi-yuan, the wife of Korean singer Koo Jun-yup, is being remembered for her quiet acts of kindness.
Recent reports from Singapore reveal that Hsu Chi-yuan had been providing financial support to single mothers struggling to raise their children. According to one single mother, she had reached out to several celebrities for help with her son's medical expenses, which amounted to 2,000 yuan (approximately $275 USD) monthly. Hsu Chi-yuan was the only one who responded and offered assistance.
Another single mother shared that Hsu Chi-yuan had donated a substantial 300,000 yuan (approximately $41,000 USD) to help with her daughter's leukemia treatment. She recalled Hsu Chi-yuan saying, "Let me know if you need more," which gave her immense comfort and allowed her child a second chance at life.
Hsu Chi-yuan, a beloved actress in Taiwan, gained significant attention in Korea following her marriage to Koo Jun-yup of the group Clon in March 2022, after reuniting with her first love after 20 years. Tragically, she passed away on February 2nd at the age of 48 due to acute pneumonia while on a family trip to Japan. Koo Jun-yup has been reportedly staying by her grave daily, adding to the sorrow surrounding her passing.
