Kim Gyu-ri Reveals Behind-the-Scenes of 'Portrait of a Beauty' Nude Scenes: 'I Was So Proud When My Performance Was Chosen'

Actress Kim Gyu-ri has opened up about the behind-the-scenes story surrounding her daring nude scenes in the film 'Portrait of a Beauty'.

In a video released on the YouTube channel 'Nop-back Attack' on the 10th, Kim Gyu-ri appeared as a guest and candidly shared her experiences.

Kim Gyu-ri, who started her career as a magazine model, recalled her early days, stating, "It was common to get scouted at hair salons when I was in my third year of high school, so I was very young back then." After gaining recognition through trendy dramas like 'Glass Slipper' and 'Dear My Sweetheart', she left a strong impression with her intense performance in the 2008 film 'Portrait of a Beauty'.

The discussion, naturally, turned to her nude scenes in 'Portrait of a Beauty'. Kim Gyu-ri confessed, "I was very ambitious," and honestly explained the filming environment at the time. She revealed, "There were body doubles prepared for every part – a butt double, a breast double, a wrist double, and an ankle double." She added, "When the director and I were in the waiting room, the double actors would come in and show us the specific body part."

"I told the film company first, 'I'll try it myself first, and if it's not enough, please use a double,'" she said. "In the end, the scenes acted out with my own body were chosen. After some deliberation, they told me, 'We can go with what Ms. Gyu-ri acted out,' and I felt incredibly proud at that moment," she confessed.

Regarding the bed scenes, Kim Gyu-ri shared a humorous yet honest confession. "The director and assistant director called me to their room the night before to explain the storyboard. The assistant director played my role, and the director played the other character, going over the angles and movements and even demonstrating it themselves," she explained. "It was much more detailed than I expected."
