ILLIT to Drop New Japanese Single 'Sunday Morning' on January 13, to Feature in Anime Theme Song
Global sensation ILLIT is set to charm fans once again with their upcoming Japanese digital single, 'Sunday Morning.'
Belift Lab announced on the 13th that the group's second Japanese digital single, 'Sunday Morning,' will be released on January 13th next year.
The J-pop rock-infused track, 'Sunday Morning,' captures the irresistible power of love and the sparkling emotions of a Sunday morning. It evokes a sense of sweet longing and anticipation for meeting a loved one.
Adding to the excitement, the song features Mega Shinnosuke, the artist behind the TikTok viral hit 'Love and You (愛とU (Ai to U)),' raising expectations for a strong reception from Gen Z fans.
Furthermore, 'Sunday Morning' has been chosen as the opening theme song for the second season of the anime 'The Princess is Busy Being Tortured,' scheduled to broadcast on Japanese terrestrial channels and OTT platforms in January.
ILLIT's previous Japanese release, 'Almond Chocolate,' a theme song for the Japanese film 'I Don't Like You Just By Your Face,' received critical acclaim and was the sole work by an overseas artist to win the Excellent Work Award at the 67th Japan Record Awards.
The group is currently promoting their first single album 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' and is scheduled to perform on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 13th.
Fans are expressing excitement about the new release, commenting, "So excited already," and "I can always trust ILLIT's music." The news of the anime OST collaboration has also garnered positive feedback, with fans saying, "The OST choice is perfect."
