Jang Yoon-ju Reveals She and Husband Manage Finances Separately: 'We Don't Even Know Each Other's Salaries'
Model and television personality Jang Yoon-ju has revealed that she and her husband manage their finances independently, sparking interest.
On March 13th, a video titled 'Jang Yoon-ju's Realistic Relationship Advice for those in their 30s and 40s' was uploaded to her YouTube channel, 'Yoonjoo Jang Yoon-ju'.
In the video, Jang Yoon-ju offered practical advice to a viewer contemplating marriage due to financial concerns. She stated, "If the person has financial capability, that's sufficient. I believe it's okay for the person with slightly more financial power to lead."
Jang Yoon-ju then shared insights from her own marriage, emphasizing, "I prioritize family environment over assets." She added, "Money comes and goes. Neither my husband nor I have a safety net. Financially, we have to navigate it together."
Notably, Jang Yoon-ju confessed, "We actually manage our money separately. I don't know how much he has. We don't know how much the other earns," surprising many viewers. She recalled, "When we first got married, we tried to set aside 2 million won each for household expenses, but it naturally stopped after our child was born." She further explained her initial resistance to her husband's suggestion of one person managing the finances, saying, "I opposed it, thinking, 'Are you marrying me for my money?' It's a sensitive issue."
Korean netizens reacted with comments like, "Managing separately is quite novel," "It must be possible because you trust each other, right?" and "Thanks for the realistic advice."
