Hollywood has lost a memorable face in its villainous roles. Peter Greene, renowned for his powerful performances as antagonists in films like 'The Mask' and 'Pulp Fiction,' has passed away at the age of 60.

According to reports from American outlets like People on the 13th (local time), Greene was found deceased in his New York City Lower East Side apartment on the 12th. His manager, Gregg Edwards, officially confirmed the tragic news in a statement.

The discovery came about after a neighbor reported a peculiar and continuous sound of Christmas music emanating from his home for several days. Authorities were dispatched for a wellness check, and police found the actor unresponsive.

No signs of foul play were discovered at the scene, and the official cause of death has not yet been released.

Born in New Jersey in 1965, Greene began his acting career in the early 1990s. He left a lasting impression as 'Zed' in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 masterpiece 'Pulp Fiction.' In the same year, he captivated audiences as the main villain, Dorian Tyrell, in the Jim Carrey-starrer 'The Mask,' marking a peak in his career. He further solidified his status as a distinctive actor with roles in 'The Usual Suspects' and 'Training Day,' among others.

Manager Gregg Edwards remembered Greene fondly, stating, "He played villains better than anyone, but in reality, he was a warm-hearted person that people didn't get to see." Greene was slated to appear in Mickey Rourke's film 'Mascots.' Upon hearing the news, Rourke took to social media to post a tribute to Greene.

Netizens are expressing their sorrow, commenting things like, "He was the quintessential villain actor, but so charismatic. Such a shame," and "We won't forget him as the best bad guy in 'The Mask' and 'Pulp Fiction.'" Many are also wishing him peace, saying, "May he rest in a better place."
