SHINee's Key Shares Update Amid 'Syringe Aunt' Controversy
SHINee member Key has shared recent photos, opting for a silent update rather than an official statement amidst ongoing controversy surrounding the individual known as 'Syringe Aunt'.
On the 14th, SHINee's official social media accounts uploaded photos of Key behind the scenes of his solo tour, '2025 KEYLAND : Uncanny Valley'. In the released images, Key is seen in stage attire, standing expressionlessly while looking in a mirror. Another photo captures him smiling brightly on stage with his dancers after the performance, holding up a banner with a slogan.
Key embarked on his first solo U.S. tour on the 3rd, visiting major cities including Los Angeles, Oakland, Dallas-Fort Worth, Brooklyn, Chicago, and Seattle. The tour is scheduled to conclude on the 15th.
The recent social media posts have drawn significant attention due to allegations linking Key to 'Syringe Aunt' A, who is suspected of illegal medical practices. The controversy began when A posted a video on her social media featuring a dog with the same breed and name as Key's pet, 'Comme des'. Furthermore, the filming location bore a resemblance to Key's residence, previously revealed on the show 'I Live Alone'. The suspicion intensified when it was discovered that A follows Key's social media account.
Additional details emerged from A's social media, including high-end luxury necklaces and signed CDs, seemingly gifted by someone saved as 'Key' in her contacts, further suggesting a close relationship. A also posted comments indicating they had known each other for over a decade.
It has since been confirmed by the Korean Medical Association that A, despite claiming to be a doctor, does not hold a domestic medical license. Key and his agency, SM Entertainment, have yet to issue an official statement regarding these allegations. As a result, interpretations of Key's latest update remain divided among netizens.
Netizens are divided, with some expressing concern that Key might be unfairly implicated, stating, 'Hope it's not true.' Others are calling for a clear statement, commenting, 'He needs to prove his innocence.'
