Actress Jin Seo-yeon Reveals Life in Jeju: 'I Earn Money in Seoul, Gain Energy in Jeju'
Actress Jin Seo-yeon has shared the reasons behind her decision to leave Seoul and establish a new home in Jeju.
Appearing on the TV Chosun program ‘Hoo Young-man’s Food Journey’ on the 14th, Jin Seo-yeon stated, “Living in Seoul is too intense due to filming. I expend energy there, and when I come to Jeju, I receive energy. I earn money in Seoul,” she explained.
Responding to Hoo Young-man’s playful question, “You spend it in Jeju?” Jin Seo-yeon denied it, saying, “Life in Jeju isn't about spending money. I don’t need to dress up, I can be in my workout clothes with a bare face, pick up tangerines if I see them, exercise daily, pick up marine debris, and I’m always active.”
Jin Seo-yeon also revealed a photo of her home in Jeju with a view of Sanbangsan mountain. She proudly mentioned, “I go to the sauna, so the elders often give me bracken.” When Hoo Young-man humorously remarked, “One might misunderstand and think you’re bathing with your uncles,” Jin Seo-yeon clarified, “In Jeju, we call older women ‘samchun’.”
Now in her third year of living in Jeju, Jin Seo-yeon explored local eateries with Hoo Young-man. They savored bracken and sea snail dishes at her favorite spot, followed by cutlassfish stew and rockfish stew at Hoo Young-man’s recommended restaurant. Visiting a black Jeju pony restaurant, Jin Seo-yeon expressed her surprise, “It’s the first time I’m seeing and eating black Jeju pony after three years here.”
She concluded by sharing her thoughts on the filming: “Even while in Jeju, I mostly stuck to neighborhood restaurants and never traveled this far. It was delicious, and I discovered a Jeju I never knew existed.”
Netizens reacted positively to the broadcast, commenting, "Actress Jin Seo-yeon, your life in Jeju looks wonderful," "I want to go to Jeju too. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations!", and "You're really showing the charm of Jeju."
