Actor Jung Woo-sung is facing criticism for his response to questions regarding a paternity scandal during the press conference for the Disney+ original series ‘Made in Korea’.

At the event held on June 15th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel, Jung Woo-sung, attending his first official press event since the scandal broke last year, was asked about the allegations.

While the situation garnered significant attention, Jung Woo-sung opted to deflect direct engagement. He stated, "I hope you understand that as this is a gathering with many actors, I cannot speak extensively about personal changes or reflections."

Although the press conference included co-stars like Hyun Bin and director Woo Min-ho, making it understandable to be cautious about personal matters, critics argue that Jung Woo-sung missed an opportunity to address the issue. This is especially in light of his previous statement at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards, where he declared, "I will take all the blame. As a father, I will fulfill my responsibilities to my son until the end."

Given that ‘Made in Korea’ was filmed during the period the scandal surfaced, his avoidance of the topic at his comeback project's launch is seen as a missed chance to address concerns and reinforce his commitment to the work. With the child's mother, model Moon Ga-bi, continuing to draw public attention, it's argued that Jung Woo-sung cannot entirely distance himself from the issue and must eventually confront it.

Netizens expressed mixed reactions, with some commenting, "It's a shame he avoided the question," and "He missed a chance to be open." Others defended his stance, saying, "It's a press conference for the drama, so it's understandable," and "He doesn't need to talk about personal matters." Many hoped for a more direct statement in the future.
