Lee Chae-min's Taiwan Fan Meeting Canceled Due to 'Unforeseen Circumstances'; Full Refunds Announced
Actor Lee Chae-min's highly anticipated fan meeting in Taiwan has been abruptly canceled, leaving fans disappointed.
The event, titled ‘2025 LEE CHAE MIN FANMEETING TOUR ‘Chaem-into you’ in TAIPEI’, was scheduled to take place on January 4, 2026, at the National Taiwan University Sports Center, following the actor's rising popularity after the tvN drama ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’.
However, on the 10th, the Taiwan event organizers officially announced the cancellation via their social media channels. The statement cited "unavoidable force majeure reasons" that made it difficult to provide a "high-quality performance experience" for the audience.
"We sincerely regret causing great disappointment to our fans and offer our deepest apologies," the organizers stated. They further expressed gratitude for the "long-standing support and understanding" of the fans, emphasizing that their "consideration and presence are of great significance." Full refunds will be provided to all ticket holders.
While the official reason given was "unforeseen circumstances," speculation about the 'Hallyu Ban' (Korean Wave Ban) had surfaced but has since been confirmed as untrue. Lee Chae-min has successfully completed fan meetings in Seoul, Jakarta, Manila, and Bangkok as part of his tour, making this cancellation particularly regrettable.
Netizens expressed sadness, commenting, "It's a shame, but it must have been a necessary decision for the actor's sake." Others added, "I hope the refunds go smoothly, and we can wait for the next opportunity."
