Won Bin's Niece Han Ga-eul Shares Update on Actor's Whereabouts; Fans Yearn for His Return
Newcomer actress Han Ga-eul, niece of veteran actor Won Bin, has inadvertently revealed an update on her uncle's recent activities, drawing significant attention.
On the 14th, actor Lee Si-eon's YouTube channel, 'Si-eon's Cool,' featured a kimchi-making session with guests including Kian84, Lee Gook-joo, and Han Ga-eul.
During the broadcast, Kian84 asked Han Ga-eul, "You must get asked this a lot, but is your Uncle Won Bin doing well?" To which she replied, "Yes," offering a brief update on the actor.
Han Ga-eul, who debuted in 2022 with the music video for Nam Young-joo's 'Again, Dream,' is currently signed with Story J Company, the same agency as Seo In-guk, and recently appeared in the MBC drama 'Let's Go to the Moon' this year. She is the daughter of Won Bin's older sister.
Kian84 humorously probed further, asking if such questions were bothersome, but Han Ga-eul responded that they weren't frequent. Kian84 then playfully attempted to cast Won Bin on his own YouTube channel, 'Life 84,' through his niece.
Lee Gook-joo, initially unaware of the relationship, expressed surprise upon learning Won Bin was Han Ga-eul's uncle, even jokingly suggesting Won Bin might find her own less-viewed channel more comfortable.
Meanwhile, Won Bin has been on hiatus from acting since his 2010 film 'The Man from Nowhere,' focusing solely on advertisements for the past 15 years. He married actress Lee Na-young in 2015 and they have a son, yet he remains an 'icon of recent sightings' rather than an active performer.
While Lee Na-young has consistently engaged in acting projects like 'Beautiful Days' (2018) and 'Romance is a Bonus Book' (2019), Won Bin's prolonged absence from the screen leaves fans disappointed.
Recently, golfer Park In-bee shared a photo on her personal SNS with Won Bin and Lee Na-young, marking their first public appearance together in 10 years. However, Won Bin's update being shared through his niece once again cemented his status as the 'icon of recent sightings.'
Korean netizens reacted with a mix of amusement and longing, with comments like "It's been so long since 'The Man from Nowhere'!"; "I really want to see him act again"; and "It's a bit disappointing since Lee Na-young is consistently active." Many expressed hope for his swift return to the screen.
