In the 'Climate and Environment Project - Chef in Antarctica,' Baek Jong-won, Lim Soo-hyang, Suho, and Chae Jong-hyeop brought warmth and touching moments by preparing a special birthday party for the overwintering crew.

On the broadcast of 'Chef in Antarctica' on the 15th, the four cast members presented gimbap, dried pollack soup, and sweet pumpkin brittle to the Uruguayan Artigas base crew. Despite challenges like water shortages and power outages in the Antarctic, Chae Jong-hyeop successfully prepared perfectly textured rice for the gimbap. The Uruguayan crew, despite unfamiliar ingredients and cooking conditions, praised the gimbap and soup, requesting refills.

A new mission awaited the team back at Sejong Station: preparing a birthday party for the crew members. Although the requested menu included Jjolmyeon, Rosé Tteokbokki, and Bungeoppang, essential ingredients like milk, cream, and cabbage were scarce. However, Lim Soo-hyang and Suho were determined to make it a memorable birthday for the crew, pushing forward with preparations. Chae Jong-hyeop even went to great lengths to collect icebergs for 'Iceberg Brew,' a traditional custom at Sejong Station.

Ultimately, a lavish birthday spread was prepared, featuring Jjolmyeon made with buckwheat noodles, Rosé Tteokbokki made with soup broth, galbi-jjim (braised short ribs), Bungeoppang baked by Suho, and a cake personally decorated by Lim Soo-hyang. Chief Administrator Kwon Young-hoon expressed his gratitude, stating, 'Thank you for creating a lifelong memory,' while Chae Jong-hyeop shared his fulfillment, saying, 'It felt incredibly heartwarming to spend time with the overwintering crew like family.'

'Chef in Antarctica' airs every Monday at 10:50 PM KST on MBC and is available on U+tv and U+mobiletv.

Netizens reacted enthusiastically, commenting, 'Gimbap in Antarctica, amazing!', 'It's touching to see them take care of their colleagues in such a difficult environment,' and 'Their cooking skills and hearts are both wonderful.'
