Blackpink's Rosé Event Marred by 'Fake Rosé' Impersonator Causing Controversy
A recent official event attended by Blackpink member Rosé in China has sparked controversy due to the appearance of an influencer imitating Rosé, leading to accusations of overshadowing the main artist.
According to Malaysian entertainment outlet Hype on the 15th (local time), Chinese influencer 'Daisy' was invited to Rosé's official pop-up store event held in Chengdu, China.
Daisy, who had previously gained attention for her makeup and style resembling Rosé's, appeared at the event and reportedly caused confusion. Although the event was primarily focused on the sale of Rosé's official merchandise and a themed photo zone, local organizers introduced Daisy as the main focus, escalating the controversy.
Daisy further irked fans by taking photos with attendees and even signing Rosé's official merchandise, actions perceived as overstepping boundaries and confusing the event's purpose.
As the controversy grew, Daisy released a statement on her social media, explaining that she was invited by the mall and acted according to the agreed-upon format. She stated her intentions were solely to promote Rosé and that she received no financial compensation. Daisy added that she recognizes Rosé and her fans should be the central focus and will reflect on any inappropriate actions and be more cautious in the future.
Korean netizens expressed their dismay, commenting, 'What is this situation?' and 'I hope they understand the event's purpose properly,' with many finding the incident absurd.
