Korean band Silica Gel is expanding its reach as a global music act, recently gracing the prestigious Japanese music channel ‘THE FIRST TAKE’.

On the 15th, Silica Gel (members Kim Geon-jae, Kim Choon-chu, Kim Han-ju, and Choi Woong-hee) performed a live rendition of their hit song ‘NO PAIN’ on the channel, which boasts an impressive 11.6 million subscribers. Known for its single-take live performance format with minimal production, ‘THE FIRST TAKE’ is a platform that allows artists' musical prowess to shine, having featured renowned artists like YOASOBI and Hikaru Utada, as well as international acts such as Måneskin and Avril Lavigne.

Silica Gel's appearance marked a significant milestone as the first all-male Korean band to be featured on ‘THE FIRST TAKE’. This performance not only reaffirmed their presence in Japan's music scene but also garnered significant attention. In a follow-up interview clip, vocalist Kim Han-ju shared, "We chose ‘NO PAIN’ because it receives the best reaction from the audience during live performances." Following their record-breaking solo concert ‘Syn.THE.Size X,’ which drew over 15,000 attendees, Silica Gel released their new single ‘BIG VOID’ on the 11th.
