Park Na-rae Controversy Leads to Cancellation of MBC's 'Palm Oil Trip'
The ongoing controversy surrounding comedian Park Na-rae has resulted in the cancellation of MBC's planned new variety show, 'Palm Oil Trip'.
On the 16th, MBC officially announced that 'Palm Oil Trip', which was in the early planning stages, will not proceed due to internal deliberations.
The program was set to feature Jun Hyun-moo, Park Na-rae, and Lee Jang-woo, who gained popularity through MBC's hit show 'I Live Alone'. However, following Park Na-rae's recent controversies, the production has been completely halted.
Park Na-rae recently suspended her activities after being embroiled in allegations of mistreating her manager and receiving illegal medical services. Consequently, another MBC variety show, 'Nado Sinna', scheduled for broadcast next year, also had its production halted.
Park Na-rae released a personal statement on the 16th, stating, "There are aspects that require a calm verification of facts, and legal proceedings are underway. I will refrain from making further public statements or explanations during this process." She added, "I believe this is an issue that needs to be objectively confirmed through official procedures, rather than a matter of personal feelings or relationships," emphasizing that her decision is to "resolve it through due process, excluding emotions and personal judgment."
Netizens commented, 'So the show got canceled too,' 'It's unfortunate, but it seems like a natural outcome,' and 'I hope she resolves the controversy quickly and returns.'
