S.E.S. Alumna Bada to Launch Her Own Cosmetic Brand Next Year, Collaborating with Kolmar
Bada (Choi Sung-hee, 45), a beloved singer and former member of the iconic first-generation K-pop girl group S.E.S., is set to officially launch her own cosmetic brand in the first half of next year.
Bada has been deeply involved in the research and development (R&D) of cosmetics in collaboration with Kolmar Korea, a global leader in cosmetic R&D. Their connection began early last year when Bada appeared on Kolmar Korea's official YouTube channel content, 'I Am Kolmar.' This opportunity led to continuous interaction with researchers and employees, prompting her to fully embark on a project to commercialize the beauty know-how she accumulated throughout her career as a K-pop idol, spanning skincare, body care, hair care, and makeup.
Throughout the R&D process, Bada personally tested all samples and prototypes, providing meticulous feedback. Her practical beauty expertise, honed over years of experience, is expected to be directly reflected in the products. "It's an honor to work with Kolmar Korea, a company recognized for its excellent product quality in the global market," Bada stated. "I am doing my best to create the safest and most effective functional cosmetics that my family and I can trust and use for a long time."
Known in the entertainment industry as a passionate 'cosmetic enthusiast' (코덕), Bada has expressed a strong ambition to present global, top-tier cosmetics that will represent K-beauty through this new brand. The project will see Kolmar Korea handling R&D, while the major domestic cosmetics company Wimiere Co., Ltd. will serve as the partner for distribution and brand operations.
A representative involved in the project remarked, "Everyone was impressed by Bada's sincere passion and effort, as she personally oversees the entire brand, from product planning to design, signaling her transformation not only as an artist but also as an entrepreneur." Meanwhile, Bada recently proved her enduring diva power in music activities by covering the song 'Golden' from the Netflix animated film 'K-POP: Demon Hunters,' with the cover video surpassing 4 million views and garnering immense love from global fans.
Netizens reacted enthusiastically to the news of Bada's cosmetic brand launch, with comments like "Finally! Can't wait," "I'll definitely try it based on Bada unnie's trust," and "This seems like it will be a new chapter for K-beauty."
