Netflix's variety show 'Chef's Table: A Class of Their Own 2' has lifted its veil and officially begun its journey.

The show, released on the 16th, features a fiery culinary battle between 'Black Spoon' chefs aiming to overturn the class hierarchy with their taste, and the top 'White Spoon' chefs of South Korea defending their positions.

Following the explosive popularity of Season 1 last year, anticipation for the Season 2 cast was immense. This season boasts an extraordinary lineup of 'White Spoon' chefs, including Michelin 2-star chef Lee Jun, the first Korean master of temple cuisine Monk Seonjae, Chinese cuisine veteran Hu De Zhu with 57 years of experience, 'The Great Battle of Korean Cuisine 3' winner Lim Seong-geun, Michelin 1-star chef Kim Hee-eun, and former Blue House Executive Chef Chun Sang-hyun, a collection rarely seen together.

Familiar faces like chefs Son Jong-won, Song Hoon, Jeong Ho-young, Sam Kim, and Raymon Kim also joined the 'White Spoon' team, leading the early stages of the show with their generous reactions to the 'Black Spoon' chefs' dishes. They showed a human side by cheering for acquaintances and regretting eliminations together.

Notably, when 'French Papa', who had temporarily stepped away from his career for his son's treatment, appeared as a 'Black Spoon' contestant, fellow chefs offered heartfelt support, saying, "Fighting, hyungnim, you'll do well," and expressed their hopes, "We hope he advances quite far." Chef Kim Hee-eun, visibly nervous while her protégé 'Baby Beast' Kim Si-hyun was being judged, exclaimed, "Wow! Well done! Kim Si-hyun!" upon his survival, adding a heartwarming touch.

'Chef's Table: A Class of Their Own 2' also introduces new rules. Season 1 'White Spoon' chefs Kim Do-yun and Choi Kang-rok returned as 'Hidden White Spoons'. If both receive passing marks from judges Baek Jong-won and Ahn Sung-jae, the number of surviving 'Black Spoon' chefs can increase by two, potentially reaching 20.

In this process, Chef Choi Kang-rok presented a braised dish, embodying the spirit of seizing the moment. Amidst the 1-on-1 battles between the 19 'Black Spoon' and 'White Spoon' chefs, Chef Son Jong-won faced the challenge with 'Wonsan Ox Tongue' as his theme, utilizing the full 80 minutes and naturally displaying the 'slow and steady' charm seen on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'.

Chef Son Jong-won, a 'Double Star Chef' who runs Korea's first Korean and Western fine dining restaurants, each with a Michelin star, backed his confident words, "My stars are not made by the 3-star restaurants I worked at. My stars must be made by me. Can you stop me?"

Despite initial concerns, 'Chef's Table: A Class of Their Own 2' proved its enduring popularity by topping the 'Korea TOP 10 Series Today' chart on the 17th, the day after its release. The show airs every Tuesday on Netflix.

Netizens are expressing strong interest, commenting, "This lineup is truly legendary," "Season 2 is going to be another masterpiece," and "I'm already looking forward to it."
