Hyukchan, a member of the K-pop group OMEGA X, has been cleared of sexual coercion charges.

His current agency, IPQ, announced on the 17th that the prosecution decided not to indict Hyukchan on the 11th, stating 'insufficient objective and credible evidence to prove the charges' regarding allegations of sexual coercion against the former agency's CEO, Mr. A.

The case dates back to March of last year when OMEGA X's former agency, Spire Entertainment, held a press conference and filed a criminal complaint against Hyukchan for sexual coercion. At the time, Spire presented CCTV footage allegedly filmed on July 11, 2022, as evidence. Hyukchan's side argued that the released footage was 'only partially edited' and requested the full original video, which was denied.

IPQ stated that Hyukchan suffered severe social stigma and mental distress due to the fabricated charges for a prolonged period, and that these damages extended to former OMEGA X members and their families.

The agency emphasized, 'We clearly state that Hyukchan has not committed any criminal act,' adding, 'We hope that distorted claims and malicious accusations will not be repeated any further.'

Fans expressed relief and support online, commenting, 'So glad the truth came out,' 'He must have gone through so much,' and 'Hope he can promote without worry now.'
