BTS Leader RM Finally Gets Driver's License at 31, Shares 'U-turn Mishap' and 'Look Down at Your Feet' Selfie
RM, the leader of global superstars BTS (real name Kim Nam-joon, 31), has officially obtained his driver's license at the age of 31.
During a live broadcast on the fan platform Weverse on the 16th, RM personally announced the news, receiving congratulations from his fellow members and fans. "Everyone, I, Kim Nam-joon, got my license!" he declared, drawing attention.
When member J-Hope (real name Jung Ho-seok, 31) playfully mentioned rumors of him failing, RM candidly admitted to struggling with the driving test. "I took the driving test twice," he confessed, explaining, "I crossed the center line while making a U-turn. The paint had faded." He added, "I can drive, but I can't park. I need to take separate lessons for that."
RM elaborated on his reasons for pursuing the license, stating, "I don't plan on buying a car. I just wanted to try. I also wanted to overcome my own trauma."
Following the announcement, RM shared a selfie on his personal social media account captioned with the four-character idiom 'Jogeogakha' (照顧脚下). The photo showed him bowing his head inside a car, alongside an image of his newly acquired Class 2 ordinary driver's license. 'Jogeogakha' translates to 'Look down at your feet,' signifying the importance of finding truth within oneself rather than externally.
Fans reacted with enthusiastic support, commenting things like, "RM got his license! Congrats!", "It's amazing that he overcame his trauma", and "The U-turn mistake is so cute haha. Drive safely!".
