Comedian Jo Hye-ryun Shares Honest Thoughts on Marriage: 'Even If It Feels Wrong, It Might Be Better to Get Married'
Comedian Jo Hye-ryun has shared her candid thoughts on marriage as someone who has been divorced and remarried.
A video titled "'If You Think 'This Is The One,' Get Married" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Rolling Thunder' on the 16th.
In the video, Jo Hye-ryun, along with comedians Song Ha-bin and Lee Sun-min, discussed marriage. A viewer shared their concerns about their boyfriend, who is four years younger, expressing hesitation about marriage due to his perceived lack of ambition.
Song Ha-bin, considered a 'successful husband,' advised, "Many men in their 20s and 30s say they aren't ready, but economic preparation isn't what's needed. If you truly feel 'This is the one,' you should get married." He emphasized, "Marriage truly leads to things working out better."
Drawing from her own experiences with divorce and remarriage, Jo Hye-ryun offered her advice: "Even if you get married and it feels really wrong, sometimes it might be better to go through with it. Living through it, you realize nothing is in vain." She added, "Life doesn't always go as planned, so don't be afraid. There's a next chapter, so draw strength from us."
Lee Gyeong-sil agreed, stating, "If you truly love the person, you should get married. When you have the desire to marry, you find a way." Jo Hye-ryun then turned to Lee Sun-min and said, "I really hope you two get married," while Lee Gyeong-sil chimed in, "Isn't it lonely living alone?" sparking laughter.
Jo Hye-ryun, who married in 1990 and divorced in 2013 before remarrying in 2014, has two children. Lee Gyeong-sil, who married in 1992, divorced in 2003 and remarried in 2007, also has two children.
