Girls' Generation's Yuri Takes Strong Stance Against Defamation, Announces 'YURIVERSE' Fan Meeting Tour
K-pop group Girls' Generation member Kwon Yuri is taking a firm stance against malicious online behavior. SM Entertainment announced on the 17th that legal action has been taken against individuals who spread false information and defamed Yuri by impersonating her acquaintances.
SM Entertainment confirmed that a fine has been imposed on one perpetrator, and investigations are ongoing for several other cases involving malicious posts targeting Yuri across platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. The agency emphasized its commitment to pursuing all legal avenues, both civil and criminal, without any leniency or settlement for violations of artist rights.
"We will continue to do our utmost to protect our artists' rights and interests and urge everyone to exercise caution to avoid any actions that may lead to punishment," the statement read.
In parallel with these legal efforts, Yuri is set to connect with her fans at her 3rd Fan Meeting Tour, '2026 YURI's 3rd FANMEETING TOUR in SEOUL YURIVERSE,' scheduled for January 24, 2026, at Yonsei University's Centennial Concert Hall in Seoul.
Fans expressed their support for the agency's decisive action, commenting, "Hope all the malicious commenters get punished," "It's reassuring that SM is protecting Yuri," and "Looking forward to the fan meeting!"
