Actress Hwang Bora Vows to Have a Second Child, Husband Cha Hyun-woo Jokes About His Drinking Habits
Actress Hwang Bora has openly shared her strong desire for a second child and the realistic marital concerns she faces with her husband, Cha Hyun-woo.
In a YouTube video uploaded on April 16th to her channel ‘Hwang Bora Boraiety,’ titled ‘Husband's Reaction After Shocking Wedding Anniversary Declaration,’ Hwang Bora discussed plans for a second child during a date celebrating their wedding anniversary.
Hwang Bora initiated the conversation by saying, "Honestly, I've made up my mind," to which Cha Hyun-woo immediately responded, "You mean you want to have another child?" Hwang Bora firmly stated, "It's not that I 'want' one, it's that I 'must' have one." She added, "I'm already preparing everything. You'd be shocked if you knew how far I've thought this through."
However, Cha Hyun-woo offered a realistic counterpoint: "What preparation are you talking about when you drink every day?" Hwang Bora, though slightly embarrassed, pressed on, "Don't you want to have a daughter?" Cha Hyun-woo confessed, "I do want one. It would be good for Wooin if he had a sibling too."
The couple continued their conversation at a street food stall they often frequented during their dating days. Hwang Bora declared, "Today is the last day I drink alcohol," announcing her 'sobriety pledge' for the sake of having a second child. Cha Hyun-woo lightheartedly responded, "This isn't just a promise between us, it's a promise to the entire nation."
Hwang Bora also touched upon their marital intimacy, mentioning, "We need to do 'that' now, shouldn't we? We haven't done it much," highlighting concerns about their sex life. Cha Hyun-woo humorously deflected, "Write that down in a letter for me," eliciting laughter.
Previously, in a video released on April 9th, Hwang Bora had candidly discussed marital realities. While preparing for the premiere of her husband's film, 'People Upstairs' ('Witjip Saramdeul'), she remarked that the movie's theme of a 'sexless couple' resonated deeply, stating, "It feels like our story. It doesn't feel like someone else's problem."
Hwang Bora is married to Cha Hyun-woo, son of actor Kim Yong-gun and younger brother of actor Ha Jung-woo. They welcomed their first son, Wooin, in May last year via IVF. She has recently garnered empathy from many by openly discussing their 'sexless marriage' and sharing her genuine thoughts and concerns about having a second child through her YouTube channel.
Korean netizens have reacted enthusiastically to Hwang Bora's candid remarks. Comments included, "Unnie, you're so honest, I love it!", "I sincerely support you! I hope you definitely have a second child!", and "I relate to this realistic portrayal of a married couple."
