Comedian Kim Soo-yong Recovers After Near-Fatal Heart Attack, Kim Sook & Im Hyeong-jun's Loyalty Hailed

Comedian Kim Soo-yong has shared an update on his recovery after experiencing a critical health scare last fall when he suffered cardiac arrest due to a myocardial infarction.

Amidst his return to health, the heroic actions of his colleagues, comedian Kim Sook and actor Im Hyeong-jun, who played a crucial role in saving his life, are once again drawing attention.

Appearing on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' Kim Soo-yong recalled the terrifying moments when he was in cardiac arrest for approximately 20 minutes. "I rarely got sick usually. I might catch a cold once every year or two, so I never imagined a myocardial infarction would happen to me," he confessed.

While en route to a filming location, Kim Soo-yong suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed. Fortunately, Im Hyeong-jun was present and had angina medication on hand. Kim Sook and her manager quickly intervened, providing first aid during the critical situation where Kim Soo-yong's tongue was obstructing his airway. Paramedics arrived shortly after, confirmed his heart was barely beating, and rushed him to the hospital, ensuring he reached medical attention within the crucial golden hour.

Kim Soo-yong expressed his gratitude, stating, "I believe it's only proper to visit them personally and thank them once I've recovered a bit more. I will repay this kindness with a healthier appearance from now on."

Meanwhile, Kim Sook further warmed hearts by sharing an anecdote about Im Hyeong-jun's loyalty on the YouTube channel 'VIVO TV.' When asked about the most talked-about short clip on their channel, Kim Sook recalled a video related to Kim Soo-yong. She mentioned telling Kim Soo-yong, "You should make your comeback on Kim Sook TV," and this information reached Im Hyeong-jun.

Kim Sook highlighted that Im Hyeong-jun has been receiving numerous offers for appearances related to Kim Soo-yong's myocardial infarction. However, whenever production teams contacted Im Hyeong-jun to request joint appearances, he politely declined, stating, "Kim Soo-yong's comeback must be on Kim Sook TV," emphasizing his unwavering loyalty. Both Kim Sook and fellow comedian Song Eun-yi were touched by his steadfast support.
