YouTube Korea Honors Late Creator 'DDGUDONG' with Tribute Video, 'We Will Remember Every Moment Spent Together'

YouTube Korea has released a touching tribute video to honor the late creator, known as DDGUDONG (대도서관), three months after his passing.

The video, titled 'We Will Remember Every Moment Spent Together with DDGUDONG,' was uploaded to the YouTube Korea channel on the 17th. It features heartfelt messages from fellow YouTube creators who gathered to share their memories and condolences.

The video showcased DDGUDONG's life and his significant contributions to the platform. It revisited his explanation for his unique channel name, 'To convey all the world's knowledge to you in an easy and fun way.' The video also highlighted his impressive statistics: joining YouTube on May 13, 2010, accumulating 1.48 million subscribers, uploading 11,681 videos, and garnering a staggering 1.6 billion views.

Particularly poignant were the messages of mourning left by his subscribers on his videos after his passing. One comment that resonated deeply read, 'My first YouTuber, thank you for the good times. May you rest in peace wherever you are.'

Concluding the video, colleagues expressed their longing for the late creator. YouTube Korea reiterated its condolences, stating, 'We will always remember DDGUDONG, who shone brightly on YouTube.'

DDGUDONG, a beloved figure and one of the first-generation internet broadcasters in Korea, was found deceased at his home in Seoul on September 6th. Authorities reported no signs of foul play or a suicide note at the scene.

Korean netizens expressed their grief, commenting, 'It's hard to believe it's already been three months,' and 'I miss DDGUDONG so much, he was my first introduction to YouTube.' Many also wished him peace, saying, 'Hope you are smiling brightly in the afterlife.'
