Fans are sending waves of remembrance as they mark the 8th anniversary of the passing of SHINee member Jonghyun.

On December 18th, SHINee's official social media account posted a photo of Jonghyun along with the poignant message, 'We love you always.'

The released photograph shows Jonghyun wearing a checkered jacket, gazing into a mirror. Believed to be an album jacket photo, it evokes deep longing among fans by showcasing his presence during his lifetime.

Jonghyun tragically passed away on December 18, 2017, at the age of 27. His posthumously revealed letter, which stated, 'Depression consumed me,' sent shockwaves through the community.

Debuting with SHINee in 2008, Jonghyun was a versatile entertainer, excelling not only in singing but also in songwriting, composing, and producing. He was behind SHINee's hits like 'Replay,' 'Ring Ding Dong,' and 'Sherlock,' and his solo tracks 'Déjà-Boo,' 'End of a Day,' and 'She Is' were widely loved by the public.

Furthermore, he showcased his talent as a 'composing idol' by writing and composing numerous songs, including IU's 'Gloomy Clock,' EXO's 'Playboy,' and Lee Hi's 'Breathe.'

Following his passing, his family established the 'Shinin' Foundation,' which uses his royalties to fund scholarships for young artists facing difficulties without agency support. Jonghyun's sister is also continuing his legacy by running a psychological counseling project for the healthy artistic activities of young cultural artists.

Netizens commented, 'Can't believe it's been 8 years already,' 'I miss you, Jonghyun-hyung,' and 'Hoping you're always shining brightly even in heaven.'
