
Singer Son Dam-bi Mourns 'Hal-dam-bi' Goo Ji-byeong-soo: 'Rest in Peace'
Singer and actress Son Dam-bi has paid tribute to the late Goo Ji-byeong-soo, affectionately known as 'Hal-dam-bi' (Grandpa Dam-bi), who gained fame for his passionate rendition of her hit song 'Crazy' on 'National Singing Contest' in 2019.
On the 17th, Son Dam-bi posted a message on her social media, saying, "Grandpa, rest in peace. Thank you for loving my song."
The late Goo Ji-byeong-soo passed away on October 30th due to old age at the age of 82. He first appeared on the KBS program 'National Singing Contest' in March 2019, introducing himself as 'Jongno's Dandy' and captivating audiences with his energetic performance of Son Dam-bi's 'Crazy'.
Following the 'Hal-dam-bi' craze, Son Dam-bi responded by sharing a video of herself performing a duet dance, expressing her gratitude. She said, "I was so moved by Grandpa Goo Ji-byeong-soo's passion from Jongno that I danced along out of immense gratitude. Grandpa! Please stay healthy and live a long life." The two later appeared together on KBS's 'Entertainment Weekly' for a special performance.
