The first mediation session between EXO's subunit CBX (Baekhyun, Xiumin, Chen) and their agency SM Entertainment regarding a lawsuit over contract fulfillment, valued at approximately 600 million won, has concluded without an agreement.

The session was held at the Seoul Eastern District Court with legal representatives from both sides present. Unfortunately, no consensus was reached, and a second mediation date has been set for the 2nd of next month.

The dispute began in June 2023 when Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chen notified SM Entertainment of their intent to terminate their exclusive contracts. SM subsequently filed a lawsuit in June of the same year, asserting the validity of the contracts. CBX's side has countersued, citing issues with SM's provision of settlement data and failure to adhere to promised distribution fee rates.

SM maintains that CBX must uphold the agreement to pay 10% of their personal activity revenue, while CBX highlights problems with SM's accounting practices and fee structures.

All eyes are now on whether a resolution can be found in the second mediation or if the legal battle will continue in court.

CBX is a sub-unit of the popular K-pop group EXO, consisting of members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen. Their legal dispute with SM Entertainment commenced in June 2023 over issues related to their exclusive contracts. The ongoing lawsuit involves a claim of approximately 600 million won, and the initial mediation attempt has failed to yield a resolution.
