The KingDom Embraces Korean Heritage with New Track 'Hwa Wol Ga'
The KingDom is set to illuminate the global stage with the soulful essence of Korean tradition through their latest comeback track, 'Hwa Wol Ga,' released today.
The K-pop group, consisting of Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, and Jahan, unveiled their special album 'The KingDom: The Flower of the Moon' across major music platforms on September 23rd at 6 PM KST. This release is a special gift to their dedicated fandom, Kingmaker, rather than an official studio album. However, due to leader Dann's early enlistment, The KingDom will continue their promotions as a five-member group comprising Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, and Jahan.
The title track, 'Hwa Wol Ga,' offers a contemporary K-pop rendition of the traditional folk song 'Miryang Arirang.' It masterfully blends traditional Korean instruments like the gayageum, daegeum, kkwaenggwari, and haegeum with grand orchestral arrangements, creating an expansive soundscape amplified by the group's powerful vocals.
The album features a total of four tracks: 'Hwa Wol Ga,' 'Festival,' 'Forget,' and an instrumental version of the title song. 'Festival' delivers a funky, upbeat rhythm ideal for a road trip, while 'Forget,' co-written by the members, conveys a heartfelt message of devotion to their fans.
Since their debut, The KingDom has cultivated a reputation as 'cinematic idols,' consistently delivering large-scale performances complemented by movie-like music videos. Their international acclaim includes being the first fourth-generation idol group to top five categories on Amazon Music U.S. and charting on Billboard.
With 'The Flower of the Moon,' The KingDom artfully merges their cultural roots with global aspirations, heralding the dawn of a bold new era.
The KingDom's new single 'Hwa Wol Ga' reimagines the traditional Korean folk song 'Miryang Arirang' with a modern K-pop flair, showcasing a unique fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds. Leader Dann has begun his mandatory military service, meaning the group will proceed with this comeback as five members. The album's track 'Forget' holds special significance as it was co-written by the members themselves, expressing their gratitude to their fans.
