Son Heung-min Reveals MBTI Type F and Bonds with Kang Ho-dong Over 'Egennam' Tendencies

Football superstar Son Heung-min appeared on the YouTube channel 'Hana TV's 'Moorupak Doctor EP.1', confessing his MBTI type and sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the World Cup.

Reflecting on his first World Cup appearance in Brazil at the age of 22, Son spoke of his initial nervousness and the surreal feeling of participating in the prestigious tournament. He explained his tears during that time were due to his strong dislike of losing, stemming from a sense of frustration and disappointment for not meeting expectations as a player.

Upon hearing this, host Kang Ho-dong inquired about Son's MBTI, to which he replied 'F'. Kang then asked if he was an 'Egennam', and Son humorously retorted by asking Kang if he was a 'Tetunam'. The two found common ground, agreeing they shared similar 'Egennam' traits.

Son also recounted his experience playing with a facial fracture in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, wearing a mask. He admitted to taking off the mask during the match against Portugal because visibility was poor and he felt 'nothing to lose in this one game'. He was instructed by the referee to put it back on due to safety concerns. He vividly described assisting Hwang Hee-chan's winning goal, explaining how he navigated past four to five defenders from 60-70 meters away and precisely found the gap between players for the pass.

Looking ahead to his potential fourth World Cup in '2026 North, Central American World Cup', Son expressed his immense pride and a desire to enjoy the experience more. He stated, 'Making people in Korea happy through football is a dream I have yet to achieve as a national team player.'
