Brown Eyed Soul Returns After 6 Years with 'Soul Tricycle,' Signaling a New Beginning
The renowned vocal group Brown Eyed Soul has officially returned after a six-year hiatus with their fifth full-length album, 'Soul Tricycle.' This release marks a significant new chapter for the group, now comprised of three members: Jung Yup, Naul, and Youngjun, following Sung Hoon's departure.
The album's title, 'Soul Tricycle,' metaphorically represents the members' fresh start, akin to a child learning to ride a tricycle – stable and joyful. The album features a total of 14 tracks, including eight new songs and six from their previous half-album. Fans can expect Brown Eyed Soul's signature soulful sound infused with influences ranging from the 1960s to the 1990s.
The title track, 'Our Moment,' is a contemporary R&B song steeped in 90s nostalgia, instantly recognizable as Brown Eyed Soul's signature style with its poignant melody and heartfelt lyrics. The accompanying music video, starring Ahn Jae-hong and newcomer Kim Ju-won, portrays the reunion of former lovers like a cinematic narrative, though some critics noted a somewhat repetitive storyline.
Brown Eyed Soul is also set to hold a concert series titled 'Soul Tricycle' from December 24th to 27th at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, their first major concert tour in six years.
Brown Eyed Soul is a highly respected South Korean vocal group known for their soulful music and emotional depth. Composed of Naul, Jung Yup, and Youngjun, they debuted in 2003 and have maintained a strong presence in the music industry. This album signifies their evolution as a trio, marking a significant milestone in their career.
